"Nine individuals, including two journalists, were cited in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon."
Nine people, including journalists and a Hezbollah member, were martyred on Tuesday evening due to Israeli airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military sources. The sources stated that four individuals were martyred when a four-wheel-drive vehicle they were traveling in was targeted by an Israeli drone-launched air-to-ground missile on a main road in the Shuaitiya area west of southern Lebanon. The sources did not specify the identities of the martyrs,
indicating that Civil Defense personnel transported them to a hospital. Earlier, four people, including journalists from Al-Mayadeen TV channel, were martyred in an Israeli bombardment on southern Lebanon. The sources reported that "journalist Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Al-Maamari from Al-Mayadeen channel, along with a civilian, were martyred in an Israeli raid on a gathering of journalists in the town of Tayr Harfa west of southern Lebanon." The sources added that "two Israeli drones were flying over the Tayr Harfa area at a medium altitude for about half an hour, followed by the firing of two air-to-ground missiles with a 20-second interval towards the journalist team, leading to their immediate martyrdom."
A Lebanese civilian accompanying the journalist team was also martyred, and the equipment of the team was destroyed, and their press car was damaged, according to the sources. Al-Mayadeen TV channel mourned journalist Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Al-Maamari in a statement, with the network's chairman Ghassan Ben Jeddou stating that they "martyred as a result of a treacherous Israeli targeting in southern Lebanon," considering that "the occupation deliberately and directly targeted the Al-Mayadeen team."
