In light of the escalating tensions in the Middle East and the unprecedented military preparedness between Israel and Iran, following mutual threats, the Iranian Navy announced that its forces will accompany the country's ships at sea.

The naval commander, Shahram Irani, said on Wednesday that the Navy will accompany commercial ships to the Red Sea in light of the existing tension, as quoted by the semi-official Tasnim agency.

"We are escorting our ships from the Gulf of Aden to the Suez Canal and are ready to protect the ships of other countries as well," he said.

"The destroyer Jamaran is currently in the Gulf of Aden, and its mission will continue until the Red Sea," he added.

Israel will regret

In turn, the commander of the ground force of the Iranian army stressed that "there is no truce with the aggressor on Iranian territory". "Let the Zionist entity know that if it tries to make a mistake, it will receive an overwhelming response that will make it regret,"Brigadier General qomrath Haidari said.

These statements came as Israel is still considering options to respond to the Iranian attacks witnessed on its territory on Saturday night, which came in response to the Israeli attack that targeted the Iranian Embassy in Damascus in early April.

Hijacking a ship

It also came 5 days after the Revolutionary Guards hijacked a ship partially owned by an Israeli businessman in the Strait of Hormuz, towing it towards Iranian territorial waters.

Since April 12, the Israeli war cabinet has held several meetings in order to discuss the response to Tehran, which it has repeatedly stressed is coming inevitably.

Israeli response

Some observers and US officials have suggested that the response will be directly from Israel towards Iran's interior, so that it targets specific sites without igniting a wider war, or Iranian interests abroad, which may also be ships, weapons storage sites or Centers for supported militias whether in Iraq, Syria or Lebanon.

Some analysts also suggested that the Israeli response could come in the form of cyber attacks.

US officials have also suggested that the Israeli response is likely to take place this weekend, but of course Israel has not announced any details, either soon or soon.

However, Washington and many of its Western allies have urged it to exercise restraint and not react, and to escalate the situation in the already flaming region since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip on the seventh of last October.
