In light of the escalating tensions in the Middle East and the unprecedented military preparedness between Israel and Iran, following mutual threats, the Iranian Navy announced that its forces will accompany the country's ships at sea.
The naval commander, Shahram Irani, said on Wednesday that the Navy will accompany commercial ships to the Red Sea in light of the existing tension, as quoted by the semi-official Tasnim agency.
"We are escorting our ships from the Gulf of Aden to the Suez Canal and are ready to protect the ships of other countries as well," he said.
"The destroyer Jamaran is currently in the Gulf of Aden, and its mission will continue until the Red Sea," he added.
Israel will regret
In turn, the commander of the ground force of the Iranian army stressed that "there is no truce with the aggressor on Iranian territory". These statements came as Israel is still considering options to respond to the Iranian attacks witnessed on its territory on Saturday night, which came in response to the Israeli attack that targeted the Iranian Embassy in Damascus in early April.
Hijacking a ship
