Shocking scenes of an Indian pushing his wife and falling together under the wheels of a train
Local media reported that they were planning to commit suicide
In a horrific incident in the state of West Bengal, a couple was seen trying to commit suicide on the subway tracks. A man hugged his wife at the platform of the Noapara station of the Kolkata Metro, upon seeing the arrival of the train, picked her up and jumped with her in front of the transport.
The shocking incident was captured by a CCTV camera.
The video, which quickly spread on social media, shows a couple casually walking on a subway platform and making a firm decision to end their lives, according to local media.
From the footage, it is likely that the wife was never planning to end her life, but her husband pushed her forcibly under the wheels of the train and she was seen trying to get off the rails the moment the train approached them.
And when the metro bus entered the building, the man rushed towards his wife and jumped with her to the rails.
The duo was seen under the moving train, however, they were rescued by Metro employees there. Later it was learned that the wife was bruised, while the paramedics had to amputate the husband's leg.
Within an hour of the suicide attempt, services on the metro lines were resumed.
