COP28: American leadership and bold climate action
As the date of COP28, the twenty-eighth conference of the parties, approaches, eyes are turning to Dubai where countries from all over the world will gather to promote ambition, implement existing goals and strengthen commitments to address the climate crisis. The event will be held at Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12, 2023, and the United States is expected to play a pivotal role in it.
The United States shows its leadership by focusing on solutions and working with partners through a holistic approach to society. The U.S. State Department has identified various initiatives and events that will showcase how U.S. leadership is offering solutions to the climate crisis.
Moreover, the United States and China agreed to host a summit on methane at COP28, committing to work together to counteract this short-lived but powerful greenhouse gas, along with other greenhouse gases.
